Statement of Faith

Are you curious about what we believe and teach here at Faith Talks Daily? In a nutshell, we believe what God teaches in the Bible is completely true. And we believe it’s important for us to know what the Bible says and teach that to others. We do this so other people can know how great God is! For more specifics about our theological viewpoints, just keep reading.

Z

God the Father

God is the One true God who is the Creator of all. He is co-equal with the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ. He is before all things and above all things. He is perfectly holy in practice, knowledge, and power. He has no gaps. He is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. He always has and always will be. (Genesis 1:1, 1 Timothy 1:17, Ephesians 4:6)

Z

Jesus Christ

Jesus is the living Word of God, the Eternal Son, and Savior of humanity. He is co-equal with the Father and Spirit. Jesus is fully God and fully human. He is the one and only mediator between God and man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, fulfilled the Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament, lived a perfect and blameless life, died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day – defeating death and sin. He has ascended into Heaven and is coming back to bring His people home. (John 1:1-18, Philippians 2:5-11, Romans 5:6-21)

Jesus died as a blood substitute for humanity’s sins. Jesus is the Most High Priest who not only made an offering for sins, but also made a perfect offering of His blameless life that serves as the substitutionary atonement for those who repent of their sins. (Ephesians 2)

Z

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is simply God’s presence on Earth and in His people. The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He empowers believers and goes before them to intercede to the Father. The Spirit is alive and active in the salvation, regeneration, and sanctification processes of a believer as well as our assurance that we are adopted into God’s family. (Romans 8, 1 Corinthians 2:10-14, 1 John 4:13)

Z

Satan

Satan is a fallen angel who is not omnipresent, not omnipotent, and not omniscient. He and his demons are evil angels who have sinned against God and who work evil. Satan’s aim is to pervert creation and pull people away from God. He is a thief and liar who will be dealt with by Jesus during the second coming of Christ. (Isaiah 14, Genesis 3, 1 John 3:8)

Z

Salvation

Salvation is by grace, through faith alone. Salvation comes only through repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus’ free gift of redemption. Jesus offered His own blood as the atonement for sin. There is no other way to receive salvation than through Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:7, Romans 3:23-25, Romans 6)

Z

Mankind

Mankind has been created in the image of God. Through free choice man brought sin into the world and has separated mankind from the holiness of God. There is no one who is good except Jesus. It is only by grace that mankind can be redeemed. Because mankind is created in the image of God, all men, regardless of social class, race, age, nationality, or education, are God’s special creation and possess full dignity and are in need of the love of Jesus. (Ephesians 2, Romans 3:10-12)

Z

The Scriptures

Men who were inspired by the Spirit of God wrote the Bible. The Bible literally contains the words of God. All of the Bible is true and is useful for teaching, rebuking, and instruction. It is infallible and inerrant. It reveals the characteristics of God, humanity, and the history of the world. The Scriptures testify about our Savior Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, John 5:39)

Because the canonicity of the Bible has been completed, there are no new additions to Scripture. Any additions or subtractions to the Bible are heretical. Holding any other text as more authoritative than the Bible is also heretical. We have assurance and trust that the Holy Spirit worked through the canonization process to protect His Words.

Z

The Church

The church is the bride of Jesus Christ and the body of His believers. Jesus is the head of the church and is the one who builds the church. The church is both local and global. Congregations have autonomy to observe the ordinances, worship, serve, and develop disciples locally, nationally, and internationally. The church (all believers) has been commissioned by Jesus to go and make disciples. (Acts 2:41-42, Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18, Matthew 16:18)

Z

The Virgin Birth

The virgin birth was a true account that is essential for Jesus to fulfill the Messianic prophecy in Isaiah 7:14. Mary was promised to be married to Joseph but was chosen by God to give birth to the Savior (Luke 1:35) before she had sex with Joseph.

Z

Justification

Justification is our right standing in the presence of God. This involves the forgiveness of sins and imputation of Jesus’ righteousness. God thinks of Jesus’ righteousness as belonging to believers. Justification is the work of God in the life of a believer and happens at the moment of regeneration. (Romans 3:23-26)

Z

Sactification

Sanctification is the process of spiritual maturity during a believer’s life. The Holy Spirit and believer work through spiritual disciplines, life circumstances, and worship to make the believer more like Christ in their actions. Sanctification begins at regeneration and ends when a believer dies and enters into glorification. Believers have different levels of spiritual maturity even though they are all adopted into the family of Christ. (Romans 6:11-4)
